Collage of 'Mr Alexander Gordon of Greenmount, Darling Downs, and his six sons' who enlisted in World War I. The collage is entitled 'Australian Born Volunteers'. The sons are Huntley Gordon of the Australian Army Medical Corps, 4th Light Horse Field Ambulance, at Dardanelles; Harvey Gordon of the Divisional Ammunition Corps, invalided home; Norman Gordon of the 3rd B.A.C., 1st A.I.E.F., at Dardanelles; Douglas Gordon, Infantry; Leslie Gordon, 2nd Light Horse, at Dardanelles; Kenneth Gordon, Infantry. The collage was published in The Queenslander newspaper, 23 October, 1915, p.22. In the newspaper version the photograph of Alexander Gordon in military uniform was replaced by Alexander Gordon wearing a civilian suit. Mr. Gordon joined the A.I.F. in 1915 as a recruiting sergeant, and all his six enlisted sons survived the war.
