Photographic lobby card for the Hindi film 'Jhansi Ki Rani' (The Queen of Jhansi), released in the year 1953.
The card shows the ouside premises of Queen Jhansi's (Mehtab) palace. In the frame, she is standing in a right profile view in the open balcony like space towards the left of the frame, dressed in her war attire, with a top garment called an 'angarakha', turban, open hair, and swords hanging by the waist. Two female warriors are also standing behind her, holding their swords up. In the open area overlooking the balcony, a crowd of the Company's soldiers is standing facing in the direction of the queen. All of them have their swords held up high. Starting from the lower half of the left border, a series of illustrations continues till the left half of the bottom border, leading the way towards the credits. There is a small sized logo of Minerva Production on the bottom left corner. The illustration continues onto the bottom border, with a book, an army and finally Queen Jhansi mounted on a horse. Next to the illustration of the queen is the name 'Jhansi Ki Rani' (English) and under it is 'Color by TECHNICOLOR'. Under this, a little towards the right is the film's name in Devanagari script and then in Urdu script in the next line, shifiting a little further to the right. In the last line on the bottom is 'PRODUCED & DIRECTED BY SOHRAB MODI'." All the illustrations and credits are printed in a green pigment.
