Photographic lobby still for the film 'Laila'(check translation), released in the year 1954.
The image shows a performance being put on for a young woman of royalty. The woman is seen reclining on a diwan thats placed on top of a tiger skin. She is enjoying the show, evident from the smile on her face. In front of her are the girls performing- One is stading with hands on her hips while another kneels in front of her with one hand on her chest and another straight up towards her with her palm facing upwards. Behind these two performers is a line of six girls imitating the pose of the standing performer.
In the bottom right corner there is text that reads (from left to right) 'SHAH Pictures PRESENT', 'Laila' (in Devanagari), 'PRODUCED By RAMNIKLAL N. SHAH', followed by 'Laila' (in Urdu and in English), and 'SHAKILA DILJEET HIRALAL & DURGA KHOTE' (the cast), 'DIRECTED BY NASEEM SIDDIQUI'.
