The Victor Player piano (pianola) played a significant part in the life of the Calthorpe family where music, particularly on a Sunday, was a favourite past time. The Pianola was originally hired from W.H. Paling & Co. in Sydney in 1920 and first used in their Queanbeyan Home before being relocated to their new home in Red Hill. The pianola remains in working order as are the many intact pianola rolls within the collection.
