The accompanying Evening Outlook caption reads: "STILL MARCHING -- Pickets parading in front of Santa Monica Sears Store after [the] Santa Monica Chapter of the National Association for Advancement of Colored People called for suspension of further demonstrations pending settlement of employment issue, are shown in pictures above. Pickets presumably represented 'United Committee to End Job Discrimination at Sears.'" The article ran on July 10th, 1948.
