Photograph shows one of the cement sculptures in the Osun Sacred Grove and is a creation of the New Sacred Art Movement. The Osun Osogbo Sacred Grove, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located in the town of Osogbo in Osun State, in the South West of Nigeria. This is the town of the famous Osun Osogbo Festival, which is the most imporant traditional showcase in Nigeria today, with thousands of visitors trooping in from around the country and internationally from the African Disapora every year. Osogbo welcomed Autrian artist Susanne Wenger in the laste 1950s, and she went on to start the New Sacred Art Movement, which transformed the Osun Grove over many decades into the world renowned site it is today.
