RECREATIONAL THERAPY
At Carakana, we train vulnerable women in cross-stitching, beading, and weaving for Recreational Therapy. We use recreation as a means of psychological and physical health, recovery, and well-being. "My name is Tabby and I am a recovering alcoholic at the Haven Rehab Center in Uasin Gishu. I worked on this forest pattern with 4 members of cross stitching here at the center. We are so grateful for this initiative because it keeps us engaged through the day and it keeps us from relapsing. I have decided to continue with cross-stitching even after my time here to keep on the sober path. Thank you Carakana"
