Pink Sketch is blown to shape and cut, then acid etched on the interior to achieve the variety of surfaces evident. The form is typical of Lipofsky, but he has explained that this is merely a sketch, or an idea, and not among what he considers his serious work. His working method is to explore his environment and respond to it by creating very organic shapes. Lipofsky was among the first graduate students of Harvey Littleton's glass program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He can be considered one of the pioneers and advocates of the Studio Glass Movement, who, like Harvey Littleton, spread his influence throughout the world.
