The sleeveless kaftan is of the pirpiri type worn in the Balkans. It is made of ruby red velvet embroidered with silver cord in the laid cord technique. It is open down the front. The upper part is tight-fitting with a round neck, and the skirt is circular. All the edges are decorated with plain silver braid and trimmed with seven rows of herringbone silver braid in a scalloped pattern.Refrences: Görünür, L., Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun Son Döneminden Kadın Giysileri, Sadberk Hanım Müzesi Koleksiyonu / Women's Costume of the Late Ottoman Era from the Sadberk Hanım Museum Collection, Sadberk Hanım Museum Publication, İstanbul 2010, pp. 170,171.
