Pitcher and Washbasin

This pitcher and washbasin combination was found in a privy (used as a trash pit) on Officers' Row at Vancouver Barracks. The brightly colored printed and painted floral motif, verging on gaudy, stands as a contrast to the plain white dishes typically supplied by the Quartermaster and used by enlisted men.
