This panel was most probably made for the upper cover of a liturgical book, possibly an evangelistary, while the lower cover probably had a second panel with a Maestà. On this panel, we see the Crucifixion at the centre, with the Virgin and Saint John, two angels above and Golgotha below. The scene is framed by three laminas with scroll-like borders, and the figure of an angel at the centre. The enamels are in shades of dark blue, sky blue, and green. The heads of the figures applied to the background are embossed – a technique that makes it possible to give volume to the metal sheet by working on it from the back.
