Dispersed along the middle of the Atlanta East-West Connector, commonly known as the Promenade, are flower beds and benches decorated with tiles bearing ankara motifs. The Atlanta University Center East-West Connector, commissioned by CODA for the 1996 Olympics, replaced Chestnut Street with brick tile, enclosures and landscaping. Now known as the Promenade, it is the main walkway between all six institutions of the AUC.
