In 2014, Archaeological Services Inc. excavated the William Joyce site in Halton Hills. The site revealed several large sherds of pearlware, a common type of ceramic in the early nineteenth century. Despite dominating tableware sales in the early 1800s, pearlware was only sold in Ontario until the mid-1830s as its popularity decreased. This fragment was once part of a dinner plate.
