The Playhouse was the final stage of QPAC to be finished, completing architect Robin Gibson's vision for the Queensland Cultural Centre. Situated on Russell Street and facing towards the picturesque South Bank Parklands, the Playhouse was completed in 1997 and officially opened by the then Premier of Queensland, Hon Peter Beattie MP and Minister for the Arts, Hon Matt Foley MP.
