Kogelnik's paintings, sculptures and drawings reflect the tumult of the Cold War era, when the Space Race was at its height and fears of nuclear annihilation were growing. Many of Kogelnik's works indicate the artist's growing disenchantment with the volatile new inventions of the space age.
