A pocket watch with a gold case depicting Our Lady of Ostra Brama with an ornamental frame on one side, and the Eye of Providence surrounded by glory on the other side. The rear face of the mechanism has two key winding holes for strike and timekeeping, and an engraved inscription: “Detached anchor/lever escapement and 22 ruby pins/ insulated pendulum/pocket chronometer/ Hands N 2404 / Czapek Company/ in Geneva”. The enamelled watch dial indicates hours and minutes. A watch made by the watchmaking company of Franciszek Czapek, a watchmaker of Czech origin. Shortly after his arrival in Geneva in 1832, he founded the Czapek & Moreau company. From 1839-1854, he collaborated with the famous Polish watchmaker, Antoni Patek, and in 1851, he established his own company named Czapek & Cie.
