Cover of the magazine Monos y monadas, edition 21. This was a political humor magazine, founded by Leónidas Yerovi (Lima, 1881 - 1917) and Julio Málaga Grenet (Arequipa, 1886 - Lima, 1963), which reproduced caricatures of this the latter and of Abraham Valdelomar (Ica, 1888 - Ayacucho, 1919). The magazine operated for two years, between 1905 and 1907, and through its pages the events of Lima society were reported, as well as facts of national politics, with special criticism of the Civil Party.
In particular, in the caricature on the cover made by Málaga Grenet, a woman can be seen holding a man's arm. The woman represents the city of Lima and the man to Federico Elguera Seminario, who was mayor of Lima between 1901 and 1908.
