Polling Booth

Taken during the 1972 Haryana Legislative Assembly Elections, this momentous photograph is of a bespectacled older woman (on the left) slightly hunched over the ballot box while casting her vote. Her frown-focused gaze follows her act of pushing the folded paper into the box while a man (on the right) dressed in a suit with slick hair, points to the box and seems to be instructing the woman. There are two younger boys near the wall behind the woman, animatedly possibly mid-conversation.
