李禹煥 Lee Ufan (b. 1936)
A native of Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea. After dropping out of Seoul National University’s School of Art in 1956, Lee went to Japan and studied philosophy at Nihon University. He started to create artworks in the early 1960s, and by the late ’60s had presented works using mixed materials. At that time he theorized the ‘Mono-ha’ (School of Things) tendency, and submitted various theses and critiques. Lee has continued to produce prints since the 1970s.
