Angelo Moiraghi (1838-1889) ran a business, together with his brothers, in rice husking; he left a conspicuous fortune to his death, his siblings having died before him: he destined half of it to the family and half to the Ospedale Maggiore, not forgetting service personnel and friends. The Hospital was to honor some legates for various charitable and welfare agencies. In his will he also asked that all the poor who had participated in his funeral procession be given 1 lira and that in the place where his death had occurred on that day he was distributed "to the poor and the old, the wine of his cellars".
