Ida Parravicini of the Marquises of Persia died at a young age in 1908. The mother, Eugenia Parravicini, who remained a very young widow, with a will dated March 9, 1921 (the noblewoman died in 1927) assigned her furniture, home furnishings and family paintings at the Civic Museums of Milan and Como, she has various bequests for charities and associations, including one of 50,000 lire for the Ospedale Maggiore, to which she asks for the portrait of the deceased daughter to be executed. The commission of the painting is entrusted to Daniele De Strobel, professor of the Accademia di Brera, who represents the young woman in an interior with sumptuous colors, which contrast with the very pale face and the diaphanous hand on which the attention of the beholder is concentrated.
