Half-length printed photographic reproduction portrait of French chemist, biologist and microbiologist Louis Pasteur (1822-1895) by French photographer Paul Nadar (1820-1910). Pasteur is credited with discovering the principles of vaccination, microbial fermentation and pasteurization. His scientific discoveries provided a better understanding of the cause and prevention of diseases.
