Portrait of President James Buchanan

Painted at President Buchanan's Wheatland home in July 1856, during Buchanan's presidential campaign. Kept in McMaster's personal collection until 1893, when McMaster's widow sold the portrait to Buchanan's brother Rev. Edward Buchanan.
