The object is a bust of a bald man in the prime of life, facing straight ahead. He is wearing a jacket and shirt. His left arm is bent at the elbow with his hand pressed against his right breast. Tadeusz Garczyński (Rautenberg) was born on 2 July 1893 in Lviv and died on 30 April 1968 in Warsaw. He was a lawyer, publicist, athlete and sports activist.

He was a co-founder and vice-president of the Polish Olympic Committee (1918–1924), vice-president of the Polish Association of Sports Associations, co-founder of the State Air Defense League. In 1939, he participated in the defense of Warsaw, during the occupation he stayed in Warsaw and was an editor of the underground press (“Polish Soldier”, a journal of the Polish Protection Corps). He also participated in secret teaching. He was arrested on 8 July 1942 by the Gestapo, imprisoned in Pawiak, and on January 17, 1943, sent to the concentration camp at Majdanek. The manT was later imprisoned in Gross-Rosen and Litomierzyce.

He published a number of articles about tourism, sightseeing (especially in the Tatra and Podhale regions), as well as nature protection.

The portrait is a thin plaster cast reinforced with oakum, covered with a brown patina with a shade of dark red. Shiny surface in places.

It is 58 cm high, 64 cm wide and 40 cm deep.
