Teresa Ceriani, originally from Busto Arsizio (Varese), unmarried, lives for a long time with her sister Maria widow of Canfari, who names her heir to her goods. In 1907 Teresa Ceriani, interpreting the philanthropic ideas expressed verbally by her sister, drew up a will in which she named the Ospedale Maggiore as a universal heir, providing a life annuity for her maid and also asking for a portrait of her sister.
