Portrait of Tian Han

Tian Han (1898-1968) was a playwright, opera composer, screenwriter, novelist, lyricist, poet, cultural critic, cultural activist, and one of the three founders of modern Chinese drama. His lyrics for the first part of the song The Great Wall later became the lyrics for the national anthem of the People’s Republic of China, March of the Volunteers.
