Postcard sent in 1932 showing lines of people and an airplane at Municipal Airport in Kansas City, Mo. Back of the post card says "Kansas City Municipal Airport, containing about 687 acres of land is loacted about 1.5 miles from Kansas City's business center and the leading hotels can be reached by automobile within 5 to 10 minutes. The Passenger Stations, costing approximately $62,000, opened to the public on December 8th, 1929, is considered one of the best airport passenger stations in the world.

The airport served as Kansas City's main airport until 1972 when Kansas City International Airport was built. Municipal Airport, renamed Charles Wheeler Downtown Airport, is still used today.
