Postcard with a night view of Union Station. Finished in 1914, Union Station was the second largest train station in the United States and at it's peak served over 670,000 passengers per year. the front of this postcard proclaims the cost of the building at $6 million, and the cost of the train terminal at $44 million. In a public/private partnership, the building underwent massive restoration beginning in 1996 after many years of neglect, and once again is a central hub of life in Kansas City, with exhibits, restaurants, offices, a post office.
