Faslah (1974) directed by K.A. Abbas marks the debut of actress Shabana Azmi who was signed by Abbas while she was still studying at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Although her critically acclaimed film Ankur (1974) directed by Shyam Benegal was released before this film, Faslah was the first film that she signed.
