Wonsam was a ceremonial robe for the royal household and wives of high government officials. However, later Joseon dynasty it was allowed to commoners to wear as a bridal robe, but without the gold leaf gilding. The wonsam was worn by Princess Deok-on(1822~1844) on her wedding to Yoon, Ui-seon, Namyeongwi(title). It is made of yellow-green gauze of a flower and butterfly pattern and is decorated with gilded with gold leaf in Chinese characters 壽 and福, each stand for longevity and good fortune. Unfortunately its original Hyungbae(insignia) is lost.
