Flávio de Barros simulated the imprisonment of counselors, which is clearly identified by the expressions of those portrayed, as well as by the static scheme of the composition. A simulacrum that aimed to convey the idea of ​​efficiency and speed of the army and disqualify the agility and dexterity of the inhabitants of Canudos. In the center, you can see the Favela tree, very characteristic of the region and which gives its name to one of the hills near the village.
