The sculptor Francisco Rincon made for the brotherhood of Our lady of the Passion, the oldest wooden "paso" (float for religious parades) that go in the religious processions around the city, which is also one of the most significant pieces of the heritage of Valladolid. The composition is very innovative, it has eight figures that have an elaborate scene context: Christ alive being crucified (nowadays the new brotherhood of the Passion carries it), the two thieves that are waiting to be crucified and five executioners in different and moving positions. The original staging was recovered in 1993 when they identified the figure of Christ with Saint Dimas. The figures in charge of lifting the cross are conceived in risky postures but, at the same time, with compensated attitudes that defy the traditional sculpting concepts, especially the two character that pull the ropes, the result of a deep mathematical research of volumes, with a perfect calculation of the gravity center in spite of his bold posture. The mocking faces, the grotesque attitudes and the flashy clothes, which set their print through Fernandez's hands, are already present within uniqueness in this work
