The above drawing is the only surviving exhibit from the competition for the regulatory plan of the city of Kalisz, announced in December 1915 by the Warsaw Architects’ Circle at the request of the Kalisz Credit Society. The competition was organized in response to the damage inflicted on the city of Kalisz in August 1914 due to the outbreak of World War I. The concept by Tadeusz Tołwiński received second prize.
