Children's metal cinema projector and movie reel of printed paper. Before the popularization of cinema and television, one way of entertaining children was with a projector with moving images that worked by rotating a paper movie reel of animated drawings using a crank handle, which was then projected through a lightbulb and a lens.
This model of projector is an RAI, sold by the brand Juguetes Payá. Juguetes Payá was founded in 1893 by the traditional tinsmith Rafael Payá Picó, who in 1905 handed it down to his three sons under the name Payá Brothers (Hermanos Payá).
