In 1975, Lubo Kristek wanted to scrutinize the taboo of death. To do that, he drew inspiration from a skeleton of a fox still bearing the remnants of skin he found in the woods after winter, and also a famous colonnade along the river Lech in Landsberg where Kristek had settled down. Strolling in the colonnade was a bit mundane, like in Luhačovice of that time, where he, as a child, used to go with his grandmother to heal his asthma. Therefore, Kristek took the fox on a leash for a walk and went to see what would happen. The connection of the genius loci (the frequencies of the place), the found fox, and a live event brought about unexpected and inspirational encounters both with passers-by and animals. Kristek called the event the Promenade with a Neurotic Fox based on a jazz composition by Karel Velebný he had once heard at a concert at the Viola Theatre in Prague.
