Dr. Doty was a Public Health Service doctor who had asked Alice to record the quarantine procedures and equipment. He is pictured here (right) with his son, Alvah (left), posing on deck of the sidewheeler, James M. Wadsworth. Alice's photo series of immigration quarantine procedures was exhibited at the Pan American Exposition in Buffalo, NY in 1901. She continued to document these procedures until 1910.
