Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Ashbourne was founded in 1585. The school moved out of its original building and into a new building in 1909. This watercolor of the new school building was painted by Ernest Morewood Longdon, who had a practice as an architect and surveyor in Bakewell. As it is an architect's drawing of the proposed building, there are small differences between the painting and the completed building.
