R.A.FISHER

Sir Ronald Aylmer Fisher, FRS(1890-1962) was a statistician and geneticist.In 1924 Prasanta Chandra wrote a paper on the probable error of the results of agricultural experiments without knowing about the work done a little earlier by R.A.Fisher at Rothamsted Agricultural Station in England. Fisher rose to a great eminence for his original and outstanding contribution to statistics. His first paper on agricultural experiments throughout the world. Prasanta Chandra's paper placed him in touch with Fisher. During a visit in England in 1926 Prasanta Chandra met Fisher and a close relationship was established.
