Ramie Textiles: Boehemeria Nivea

The Ramie crop was always native to Tura and the Garo Hills region of Meghalaya and was traditionally used to make rope for fishing, nets, ties for bamboo in construction and the plant was also and still is consumed by the locals in form of curries and pakodas.
