In the early days of Scottish football, fans formed what became known as ‘Brake Clubs’ travelling to games in groups on large horse-drawn wagons. They were among the very first organised supporters’ clubs and flew their team colours, banners and handmade flags, bearing the names of their heroes. This stunning banner was flown by the Rangers Kinning Park Brake Club and bears an image of Alex Craig. The Galway-born Ireland internationalist enjoyed two spells with Rangers, making over 100 appearances between 1905-12 and 1914-16.
