Concept of Panca Buddha(the five transcendental Buddhas) appeared somewhere in 5th century. Each of the five Buddhas represent different classifications into five categories including knowledge, senses, human behavior etc. Ratnasambhac Buddha is one of the Panca Buddhas facing east. The direction is based on the position of the deity on a Mandala. Ratnasambhav Buddha is seen as Varada- boon giving gesture.
