Recumbent sculpture of Antipope Benedict XIII, made in an aragonese pottery village. He wears up-to-heel attire, the head over a double pillow and at his feet he might have had a dog, whose only remains are the legs; on the right side of the figure there is the two coat of arms of the Luna. Benedict XIII of Avignon, also known as Papa Luna, was born in Illueca (Zaragoza) and was a member of the Luna family, one of the main Aragon families related to archbishops and kings. He died in Peñiscola (Castellon) in 1424.
