Reforming loafers (改造二流子), which was highly praised by Xu Beihong (徐悲鸿), was one of Wang’s early representative works. It reflects characteristics of socialist China. His keen sense of observation and great artistic skill helped him reveal the inner world of the characters and created a vivid picture of Chinese socialist activities in Yan’an period.
