Refreshing in the square - Visiting a farm

Around four o'clock in the afternoon, men of small income used to come from the adjacent streets to Largo do Palácio, where they sit on the pier to breathe the fresh air until the time of Ave-Maria at 6pm. Housewife dressed for a party, with shawl thrown over her shoulders and refreshing herself with a huge fan.
