Kim Taehyung’s Regional Study of Cheorwon for Cultural Imagination – Invisible Cheorwon explores the history and placeness of the region through research on the changes of home structures in a civilian village under civilian control line in Cheorwon. Kim examines the various divisions and borders near the DMZ in Cheorwon, analyzes house structures that represent the lifestyles inside and outside the civilian control line, and explores the changes that follow in residents’ lives and the village’s geography. In this exhibition, he presents the formative background of Minbuk Villages remaining in the civilian control line in Cheorwon, such as Igil-ri, Jeongyeon-ri and Yugok-ri, and identifies changes in the structure of the villages and their houses.
