Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum

Kaohsiung, Taiwan

This reliquary bottle has a mouth opening sculpted in the form of lotuses, a short neck, a round body that stands on a flat base. This glass bottle is small and elegant, in a light blue-green color. In the Tang and Song dynasties, because glazes were scarce and precious, they were often reserved for containing relics of monks.
