Reliquary of St. Stanislaus Kostka

A two-piece brass reliquary with the remains of St. Stanislaus Kostka The reliquary has the form of a locket. The inside is lined with a fabric and houses the saint’s relics which are protected with glass panes. There is also a note with signature: “S. Stanislai Kostka”.

Stanislaus Kostka (1550-1568) was a Polish Jesuit. He is currently worshipped in the Catholic Church as a saint and the patron of Poland, altar boys, and Polish children and youth. The veneration of Stanislaus Kostka began immediately after his death. He was beatified in 1670 by Pope Clement X, and canonized in 1726 by Pope Benedict XIII.
