Cai Xian (1897-1960 AD), also called Zhenyuan, was a well-known fine-brushwork painter born in Suzhou of China’s eastern Jiangsu province who was so good at illustrating monkeys and squirrels that he gained the nicknames of “Monkey Cai” and “Squirrel Cai”.
