RETICULE

The brightly coloured embroidery and simple construction of this drawstring bag is typical of Berlin wool-work bags from this period. The Berlin patterns were designed for amateur needlewomen who would make them as simple or adorned as they wished. Two drawstrings with ivory tassels pull together twelve brass rings to close this example.
