This tin box was found in Vaughan, on a site excavated in by Archaeological Services Inc. (ASI) in 2000. The site was identified as a 19th-century farmstead. However, the artifact dates from mid-20th century. It was produced by United Drug Co. Limited and sold by Rexall drugstores. The box used to contain 24 Rexall Orderlies Original Chocolate Flavored Laxatives advertised as “Ideal for women, children, and elderly people”. It does stay inclusive pointing out that the medicine is also “effective for men”!
